GLOSSARY

Redundancy in Data Center

The term redundancy has several meanings. In a data center, redundancy means that there are two or more infrastructures or systems for high reliability areas, such as power supply, network connection, storage, cooling and other important components of the infrastructure.

The reason why redundancy is important in a data center is that should the power supply, network connection or similar fail, another source takes over and ensures that the data center has power and internet at all times.

By having redundancy, in other words, a data center can achieve a high degree of availability and reliability. This enables the data center to provide services with minimal downtime and ensure that the business can continue to operate in the event of a failure.
